Sorry Rick Snyder, I’m Not Buying It

Michigan Tourism is an 18 billion dollar a year industry. That’s big money and big profits for the owners and promoters of Michigan’s tourist attractions. That’s also great news for Michigan, but why should taxpayers have to dish out 25 million dollars to promote tourism?: http://www.woodtv.com/dpp/news/michigan/Bill-to-provide-tourism-funding-boost  That’s right, Michigan’s “conservative” republican governor Rick Snyder expects taxpayers to pay about 5 bucks per household to promote tourism. Hey Rick, if they’re pulling in 18 billion a year, don’t you think they can afford to pay for the advertising? This is exactly what’s wrong with our current system of government.  How about some tax revenues to promote anti-government websites? Nah, I don’t think it will happen. In the meantime, maybe we should let the tourism industry pay for it’s own commercials. I know it’s a novel idea but it’s not the governments job to promote business. The sooner you and the rest of our so-called representatives get the message, the better.
