ATF Gun Running

The U.S. House of Representative’s Oversight and Government Reform Committee is currently investigating a gun running operation conducted by the ATF in 2009. The ATF gun running operation called “Operation Fast and Furious” provided thousands of guns to criminals in the U.S. and Mexico. One of the guns sold in the operation was later used to kill U.S. border patrol agent Brian Terry. Nice job ATF! Once again, our criminal government is using our tax dollars to promote criminal activity. In this unbelievably corrupt operation, the ATF told gun store owners to sell guns illegally and then the ATF stood by and watched as the guns went into the hands of Mexican drug gangs. Many ATF agents”begged” to seize the firearms, but were told to stand down. Some of the guns sold in the operation included .50 caliber sniper rifles. I guess the ATF doesn’t go cheap when it runs an illegal weapons operation. E-mails released by Representative Darrell Issa show that the ATF’s acting director and acting deputy director were both involved in the operation. It will be interesting to see who else is involved in this unholy conspiracy. It will also be interesting to find out why such an operation was allowed to exist. My guess is that it was intended to be used as an argument to trash the second amendment and take away our guns. Take away our guns? Over my dead body!
