» BP Oil Disaster:

BP Oil Disaster

Posted by on June 15, 2010 at 4:18 pm.

Even though the BP oil disaster is off the front page of the press, thousands of barrels of oil continue to leak into the Gulf of Mexico on a daily basis. The BP oil leak facts may be worse then many realize.  It has been nearly 2 months since the oil began leaking into the Gulf of Mexico and we still do not have a clear picture of what really happened. Lindsey Williams appeared on The Alex Jones show and here is his take on what really happened. The Deepwater Horizon drilling rig was drilling 25 to 39 thousand feet under the ocean floor when it hit something very unexpected and could not contain it. The reason the leak could not be contained was because of the extreme pressure involved. According to William’s sources the well head pressure is said to be between 20 and 70 thousand pounds per square inch. To put things in perspective, the typical well head pressure in a Prudhoe Bay, Alaska oil well  is around 1500 pounds per square inch. The pressure was so strong that all 3  of the safety measures in the Deepwater Horizon well failed. Apparently, BP had drilled into a magma chamber which explains the extreme pressure involved with this leak. Lindsay William’s sources believe that the crust of the earth has been cracked causing fissures to form as well as more oil leaking through those fissures. This would explain huge oil plumes seen miles away from the initial well head leak. As if this isn’t bad enough, toxic fumes escaping the spill site are reaching very dangerous levels. Here are some recent results of Gulf air quality testing: Hydrogen sulfide 1200 parts per billion(acceptable level is 5-10 parts per billion), benzene levels are 3000 parts per billion(acceptable level is 0-4 parts per billion) and methylene chloride levels of 3000 t0 3400 parts per billion(acceptable level is 61 parts per billion). Williams warns that the release of these toxic gases may be worse than the oil leak itself. Some oil industry sources claim that the detonation of a nuclear device may be the only way to stop the leak. However, a nuclear detonation  could make the leak much worse by making larger cracks in the earth’s crust, allowing  much more oil to leak from the ocean bed. Williams has a very interesting take on why BP CEO Tony Hayward and Goldman Sachs sold BP stock just before the leak occured.  How long BP can hide the facts of this disaster is anybody’s guess.   If anyone is interested in learning more here is a link to the Alex Jones’  interview with Lindsey Williams:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WgjobZcAeA
